DAYS / 3 NIGHTS (SOFT ADVENTURE) |
1. DAY:
Early morning we fly in a little jungle plane from La Ceiba to
Brus Laguna . In a motorized canoe we cross the Laguna de Ibans
until we come to an overgrown
channel of the mangrove lagoon. There is plenty of time to observe
toucans, parrots, herons and we might see
monkeys and little crocodiles floating in the water.

2. DAY:
Palacios. Here we visit the old cemetery, look at the British
canons and walk through the little town , the meeting point of Misquito and
Garifuna culture and the home of the ruins of the English Black River Colony,
which flourished between 1699 and 1782 . Overnight
in Palacios3. DAY:
After having breakfast a motorised dugout canoe will take us back into Laguna de Ibans to the Garifuna village Paplaya. Here we learn about the
Garifuna
culture and observe their everyday life. From March to August you can visit the marine seaturtle
conservation project operated by the local residents of Paplaya. Take a
walk with
a local guide along the beach to search for nesting leatherback turtles and loggerhead
turtles or even witness the birth and release of the baby seaturtle.
We will stay overnight in the Misquito village of
Brus Laguna.
4. DAY:
Morning flight back to La Ceiba .
